Long Branch Loop
The Long Branch Loop is a 2-mile trail suitable for beginners or those seeking an easier mountain biking trail. The loop crosses over Long Branch creek twice, and the trail is mostly level with minor elevation changes. Starting at the end of the parking lot, the trail splits at .17 miles forming a loop, and there are two other intersections. The remnants of an old homestead can be seen at 1.8 miles if going clockwise. There are some perfect views to also enjoy of the creek and Green Mountain in the distance.
Benton MacKaye and Shallowford Bridge Rd Loop
The trailhead for this scenic route begins along Shallowford Bridge Rd and takes the Benton MacKaye trailhead by the Toccoa River. For those who want to add more distance to their hike, there is a spur trail along the way that leads to Free Knob. The trail finishes by looping back onto Shallowford Road and returns to the parking lot. This route is generally considered an easy hike, taking an average of 1 hour and 1 minute to complete. It’s perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and running, and you’re unlikely to encounter many other people while exploring. Leashed dogs are also welcome on this trail.
Flat Creek Loop
The Flat Creek Loop is a great option for intermediate mountain bikers looking for a challenge. This singletrack trail is 5.9 miles long and features multiple creek crossings and rocky terrain to navigate. Located near Blue Ridge, Georgia, the trail is considered moderately challenging and takes an average of 2 hours and 47 minutes to complete. The course is open year-round and welcomes hikers, mountain bikers, and runners, so expect to encounter other people while exploring. This scenic trail is perfect for a visit anytime and leashed dogs are allowed.
Green Mountain Trail
For a real challenge, the Green Mountain Trail offers 7.7 miles of singletrack with stunning views overlooking Lake Blue Ridge.
